Streamline Love Letter
Dear Streamline Fam,
October is a special month for me. Not because I love the season changing from summer to fall. I’m not particularly into Halloween, and honestly the pumpkin spice craze is lost on me. But October is special because for me, for Streamline, it is the anniversary of new beginnings. Of striking out into the unknown and taking a big, scary leap and betting on myself.
5 years ago, in October of 2020, I opened Streamline Physical Therapy. I had long since become disenchanted with my past in-network jobs; we all know the healthcare system is a joke. So I decided to go all in and take a chance on myself, providing physical therapy the way I thought it should be – with the emphasis on the athlete in front of me, building foundational strength and solving the root causes of issues.
The early days were hard, and filled with self-doubt, not to mention news filled with loss and uncertainty as the world struggled to get a handle on the Covid-19 pandemic. But a beautiful thing happened. People came to see me. And even better, they believed in me. Even when I wasn’t always so sure of myself.
Since those early days of just me, my table and my dogs, the team has grown to include Mariel, Amanda and most recently, Kirsten. As many of you know, we were working out of a space in a performance gym up the street (many thanks to Brian and the Sports AdvantEdge crew) and we just recently moved into our new, beautiful Bruce Street location.
As Streamline has grown, our mission and vision have been becoming more and more clear: We are here to radically change how Madison-based athletes take care of their bodies by providing intentional, person-first, long-term care from the time of injury to lifelong performance.
We are inspired by you, our community. You are our foundation. Without you, we would not be where we are today.
We lead with courage. We strive to be on the forefront of the change of healthcare, not just in Wisconsin, but in the country.
We are driven by excellence. We work hard to provide the best care for you by maximizing our potential to be better than the best.
For those of you that are new to the family, Welcome. For those of you that have been with me from the very beginning, Thank you. Thank you for the last 5 years, for the coming 5, and for all the years after that.
We have big things coming.
Love,
Kari
