About Me

Updated: Jan 10, 2021

I was born and raised in Madison and I always knew I wanted a career working with and helping people achieve their greatness. I finished my Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, and then, after working in a clinic and building a solid foundation in coaching swimming, I graduated with my DPT from the UW in 2012.

I started my career as a physical therapist in a health system in Janesville, but soon became disenchanted with the limitations of a health care system. I learned a ton, and moved my career to a private practice in Dane County. Here, I became immersed in what it was for a patient to have a choice in who their providers are. Being able to work more in the community lit a fire in me to step out on my own and build a practice where the patient can not only choose their provider, but where I can work for the patient, rather than be driven by insurance company requirements. Do you need manual therapy, dry needling and functional based corrective exercise movements? I can do that. Do you need one-on-one time and assistance with movement patterns to get back to the pool or playing field? I’m here for you.

I achieved a Specialist Certification in Orthopedics (OCS) in 2018 – an advanced specialization that sets my treatments and assessments above that of my peers. I have found my niche in working with athletes of all varieties, though swimming is my passion. I love breaking down movement patterns to find ways to improve strength, power and efficiency, if not to decrease pain or prevent injury.

When I’m not at work, you can find me on a pool deck for the better part of the year; I coach at Ridgewood in the summer and help with both the Mens’ and Women’s Swim Teams at Memorial High School. Being a PT makes me a better coach, and being a coach makes me a better PT. In my very limited spare time, I love being with my family and friends, traveling, hiking and baking and decorating all kinds of delicious things. I am an avid sports fan, but most of my devotion falls to the Packers and Badgers. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes and enjoy sunny afternoon walks around the neighborhood and dog park with my two rescues.
